100 BENEFITS OF MEDITATION

Meditation is so incredible! Why?

Is it the 100 different benefits? Is it the fact that doctors are curing diseases with it in books like Meditation as Medicine?

Is it the fact that it helps with stress?

For me one reason it is so incredible is that it is so difficult. I know that I need to do it because it is so hard to do.

I have run for over 5 hours and it is still not as difficult as sitting still for 20 minutes and breathing. It just shows me how far I have gotten from my source of energy.

I love doing it and do it every night. Books like the Law of Attraction by Esther and Abraham Hicks have really made me a bigger fan of meditation.

I also find it fascinating that some of the most successful people have admitted to meditating most of their lives like Jerry Seinfeld. Did meditation help him become one of the most successful comedians of all time? It very well could have.

I bought this CD set at a thrift store for two dollars. It is about a Hawaiian method of healing our lives by practicing a simple meditation that is used to heal our past memories with love.

The CD focuses on a practitioner of this ancient method that healed an entire mental ward in a hospital by working on himself. Eventually that mental ward shut down because all the patients were released. Fascinating recording! See if you can get it from the library.

I have been practicing the simple method ever since and it makes me feel good. It really is a peaceful meditative practice.
This is the next book I want to read. Can we create world peace with meditation? This book documents over 19 different studies that all show we can change this world and make it less violent with meditation.

These studies also showed that groups of meditators meditating affecting the economy in the area where they were meditating in a positive way.

Eat Right...Eating Garbage Doesn't Make Sense!

I just read yesterday that it takes running or walking 35 miles to lose 1 lb of body fat or you could do 17,150 sit-ups.

If Michael from the latest season of The Biggest Loser would have just did exercise and followed his same diet he would have had to run/walk 9,170 miles or do 4,585,000 sit-ups. That is the equivalent of running or walking 25 miles a day or doing 12,561 sit-ups for a year.

Wouldn't it just make more sense to eat healthy food instead of running or walking 9,170 miles to burn off the fat and calories in unhealthy junk food???

It just makes too much sense to put good fuel in our bodies. The body is the temple of God. Make sure to treat it like that at every meal and you won't have to do just under 5 million sit-ups.

The Jungle Gym

Jon Hinds invented the jungle gym and I am forever grateful. I did 25 assisted one legged squats yesterday. That is the hardest leg exercise in the world!!! I was able to do 25 in one day. I love doing the pushups, tricep extensions, dips, chin ups, one arm chin ups, and the body rows. The body rows are incredible!!! Jon Hinds is one awesome vegan personal trainer. Please God give me enough money to become a Certified Natural Trainer!!!

Engine 2 Food Makes 'Em Smile!!!

People love it when you feed them healthy food. I always bless my food with love and positive thoughts and always get positive responses.

The Poker party was a huge success. Everyone loved the Sweet Potato Lasagna, but next time I will bring a much smaller dish of it because it is a little expensive to make for people. I would rather make a big dish for me and Amber.

People at the Poker party loved the whole grain cholesterol free Engine 2 Chocolate Chip Cookies. The next day I brought leftover Sweet Potato Lasagna to my family and they loved it and then I gave them some fresh Engine 2 Chocolate Chip Cookies and they loved those.

Making healthy food with your family is one of the most incredible experiences on the planet. Think of those kids watching you make those vegetable dishes and healthy whole grain cookies. What kind of message does that send to them?

It might tell them that we care about our health and your health and the planet. Then they will teach their children the same thing.

Tomorrow night I am going to a Poker party and I am bringing some Engine 2 Sweet Potato Lasagna and hopefully if time permits some Engine 2 Chocolate Chunk Cookies.

This recipe is incredible. We made some this weekend with homemade red sauce and it was so good.

I am also planning on bringing a salad to this party, because no meal is complete without an incredible out of this world tasting salad. Add some pecans for 19 vitamins and minerals and because they taste incredible.

Watching The Wheels Go Around...

Just enjoying my runner's high I got from my 3.9 mile run on lunch break and listening to John Lennon.

What would the world be like without music?

I am also dreaming of my Jungle Gym that I am getting on Friday. Jon Hinds is the genius behind that invention.

I love life. I have also been reading about the dust bowl in the book, The Worst Hard Time by Timothy Egan.

Imagine what it is like to work for an entire year and not get paid. That is what happened to the majority of the wheat farmers in the dust bowl region. There was too much wheat so they were told "You get nothing" for one year's worth of hard labor. It makes you sad hearing stuff like that.

Chicago Fire Fighters Adopt Plant-Based Diets!!!

Chicago fire fighters heed obesity alarm - More fire fighters die from the Standard American "suicide diet" than from fires. Dr. Oz talked to a fire fighter that stated that more of his fellow fire fighters were dying from the fork than fires. Dr. Oz helped three fire fighters adopt a vegan diet based on the principles of The Engine 2 Diet and now those fire fighters only eat animal products in moderation...very small amounts and very infrequently.

Heart disease is 100% preventable. I eat vegetables all day long and am trying to figure out why I don't get sore after 22 mile runs and after running 4.5 miles and lifting weights for 1 hour in one day.

If you switch from the"suicide diet" to a diet that is actually good for you, you won't ever want to go back. Trust me on that. My bok choy stir fry with broiled tofu last night was so good...I can't wait to have it again and again and again.

My plan is to at least live healthy and strong like Jack Lalanne until I make it to 95 years of age.

According to the world peace diet I save 1,350,500 gallons of water a year by avoiding animal products.

In 62 years I will have saved 83,731,100 gallons of water. That is awesome!!!

Without water their would be no life on this planet!!!

Conserving water resources with a 100% plant-based diet is a spiritual way to preserve life for future generations!

30 1 Minute Sprints

Sprints are my favorite workout!! They are incredible. I have read that they increase growth hormone output by up to 300%.

Every time you do them you are telling your body something profound. You are telling your body to be ready to be able to go at 80 - 100% at a moments notice. Your body is intelligent and will listen to this message.

Kids are always sprinting for fun and it is one of the secrets to their youth. They can find joy in that simple act of running as fast as you can.

Try doing 30 1 minute sprints. After each sprint take a 1 minute break (no running). I like to do my 1 minute sprints at 10 mph.

It's incredible when you do this workout from the Biggest Loser how long you can maintain high speed sprints.

Eischens Yoga Training DVD - Monkey Bar Gym

Jon Hind is such an incredible trainer. He is so open minded. When Jon found out he had arthritis at the age of 40 he needed an answer and surgery didn't make sense to him. He read The China Study, and adopted a 100% vegan diet and his arthritis disappeared in two months.

Now that is open minded for a guy who spent the majority of his life strength training to just adopt a plant-based diet and fix the problem.

He did the same thing with his knee injury that he sustained while training professional basketball players. He was unable to use it the way he used to for two years, but within one month of trying Eischens Yoga all of his knee pain was gone and he was able to dunk. This was after not being able to play basketball for two years.

I just started Eishens yoga about five days ago and it is really impressing me. Yesterday I did a 22 mile run and today I am not even sore. That is an awesome feeling! I love this type of yoga because it is quick and to the point. 24 minutes a day.

My salad today tasted so incredible. My beans and rice was out of this world. I kep thinking about the 15,000 antioxidant units in those organic black beans and the 70 different antioxidants in the brown rice. I thought about the thousands and thousands of phytonutrients and antioxidants in my HUGE salad with Zesty Tomato dressing from Eat To Live.

Diet For a Hot Planet

How hard would it be to convince someone in the early days of sailing that vitamin C deficiency was the cause of scuvy?

Well, if you read the history of scurvy you will see that it was almost impossible to prove this simple truth to society and the scientific establishment.

Humans weren't ready to accept the simple fact that we will die if we eat zero plant foods.

Today, we are faced with another simple truth. Humans die prematurely when fed animal products and when humans consume animal products it destroys our planet.

The livestock on this planet are creating more emissions than all the trucks and cars on the planet and the methane emissions are 200 times more powerful as global warming agents than carbon dioxide emissions.

Now go find a skeptic and try to convince them that if humans don't stop eating a diet based around animal products it will destroy the planet. You will find the same thing that was found out during the time of scurvy.

The truth shall set us free, but the truth is not something people are willing to accept.

Healthy Honey Mustard Dressing

Ever since I was a kid I have loved salads. I remember eating massive amounts of salads as a kid. I loved them.

I am probably the only person that remembers eating every vegetable in our house all the time. No vegetable was safe with me around.

When I found out I could prevent heart disease by avoiding animal products I didn't even need a second to think about it.

I stopped right there. While everyone was eating turkey and mashed potatoes with gravy I was eating a salad.

The problem with salads is the dressings today are so fattening and loaded with salt and sugar.

One container of ranch has over 8,000 miligrams of salt and 288 grams of fat. That is the same amount of fat as would be found in 738 baked potatoes.

Try this dressing on a salad and make sure you have a good calorie source with that salad. I like to use beans or brown rice.

Honey Mustard Dressing
1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar, lime, or lemon
1 tablespoon liquid amino
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon dairy free honey mustard
Seasoning (any herbs you want in it)

Whip this up till it is nice and creamy. Then pour it on a HUGE salad and mix it up really good. Healthy nuts like pecans and walnuts really bring out the flavor of this dressing in a salad.

Pecan have 18 vitamins and minerals in them so they are a great addition to a salad. Brown rice has over 70 different antioxidants in it so that is a great source of calories.

This dressing will make you fall in love with vegetables for the first time, or if you are like me for the thousdanth time. It will also make it so you can eat a guilt free meal that is incredible tasting.

Avoided Cholesterol from 116,070 Slices of Bacon

In the book, Milk The Deadly Poison, the author makes it very clear that the average American consumes the equivalent amount of cholesterol from dairy products every day that they would have from 53 slices of bacon.

His book explains that by the time the average American reaches the age of 52 they have consumed the equivalent amount of cholesterol from dairy products as they would have from 1 million slices of bacon.

When I read this everything became so clear. My uncle didn't die of a heart attack at 37 because he had bad genes or a party lifestyle. He was consuming products that every single one of us did and these foods kill. That is why heart disease is the number one killer in America!

We want to blame it on genes, because it makes life easier for us. It gives us a chance to point a blame finger and not take responsibility for our own actions.

That ended my love affair with dairy products. Now my total cholesterol is 116 and I feel better than I ever have in my life.

In the last six years I have not been sick one time with the exception of one food poisoning incident. I can also exercise longer and more often than ever before.

So far after six years of avoiding dairy products I have avoided consuming the cholesterol that would have been found in 116,070 slices of bacon. No wonder my total cholesterol is 116.

My total cholesterol is 116 because I prefer to eat plants. Even though the screams of that head of cabbage and the murdering of each tomato keeps me up late at night.

It's hard to believe that heart disease is the number one killer in this country and no body wants to acknowledge what is causing it.

Destroying Rain Forest for Palm Oil

Greenpeace Report Links Nestlé to Rainforest Destruction - Everything that is bad for human health is also bad for the environment. Vegetable oils like palm oil are just one of the many things that destroys the environment and human health.

Dr. Caldwell B. Esselstyn reversed heart disease, but he had to get all of his patients off of vegetable oils to do so. This is why any vegan out there can die of heart disease because vegetable oils destroy the arteries like cigarette smoking destroys the lungs.

Dr. Esselstyn told me on the phone that every single high fat meal damages the endothelial cells in our arteries and that damage can be seen with medical diagnostic equipment for up to 4 hours after a meal. Do this for 30 years and your arteries will not be able to function like they are supposed to?

We should all work at limiting proccessed food in our diet and boycotting palm oil to save our rainforests from destruction and to improve our quality of life.

The bible asked us to love ourselves and that entails taking care of our bodies and our health. You can't love yourself and destroy your health at the same time.

Humans haven't listened to this simple message and as a result have turned places like the Sahara Forest into the Sahara desert. We have continued to do things that are bad for our health and the planet's health and eventually the planet will exterminate us if we keep it up.

My uncle died of a heart attack at 37 and my mother died of cancer at age 44. It is criminal that our government is subsidizing foods that cause disease right now.

Why does our government choose to subsidize foods that cause heart disease and cancer?

Why is the government subsidizing foods that are turning this country into a gigantic desert?

Why is the government subsidizing foods that are making our health care system more expensive than any health care system in the world?

The world needs to see this movie so we can regain our sanity as a culture. How much longer can we poison ourselves at every single meal? The American suicide diet is just not sustainable. There are not enough resources for Americans to eat this food for too many more decades.

Escapism. So many of us are spending every second trying to escape reality through television, movies, video games, ipods, and an endless amount of distractions.

We spend so much time doing this that many of us aren't educated about what we can do as individuals to make this a better world for those around us and future generations.

The sad thing is we are not living mindfully and are not opening our eyes up to the destruction caused by the American lifestyle.

The same thing has been happening for thousands of years. At one time the Sahara desert was actually a forest that was thriving with life. Deforestation and livestock grazing turned that land into the largest desert in the world.

Please read Beyond Beef by Jeremy Rifkin so you can live more mindfully and understand how destructive consuming beef is to the environment. Cattle grazing and growing crops for livestock is the primary cause of deforestation, desertification, species extinction, water depletion, water pollution, topsoil erosion, world hunger, and results in more green house gases than all the vehicles in the world according to the Food and Agriculture division of the United Nations.


Why bring children into this world just to destroy it? Learn how to cook some meals that have zero animal products in them and you will be on your way to reducing our resource consumption. According to one estimate switching to a vegan diet can save up to 300,000 gallons of water per year. Professor David Pimentel found that it takes up to 12,000 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef and documented this in his book, Ecological Integrity.

I love myself so I don't eat things that clog my arteries. I love myself so I don't eat things like beef that result in this planet being turned into one gigantic Sahara desert.

We have been lied to for over 100 years by the food industry and the medical industry. When my mother passed away from cancer at 44, and my uncle passed away from a heart attack at 37 I was just supposed to blame it on genetics and go on with my life. Read this book and you will be shocked at how things changed in America. How heart disease went from being almost non-existent to being the number one killer. You will see how we traded in our farm grown food for junk food and processed food and then we ended up with the most expensive health care system in human history.

Cross Fit Workouts

I really am excited about the simplicity of these workouts and the fact that each workout is supposed to be a different Cross Fit workout.

Our muscles get so weak sometimes by doing the same machines and exercises.

Last night I tried a cross fit workout that just felt incredible. I did one set of 25 assisted pull-ups, 1 10mph 400 meter sprint, 1,000 meters rowing, 100 jump ropes, and 25 bosu ball push-ups. I only did two rounds of that but it felt so good.

When I think about this project it makes me think about the Tarahumara Indians. The Tarahumara Indians live in a society with no heart disease, diabetes, and cancer is extremely rare. These people follow an ancient way of life that makes them invincible to disease and super human when it comes to running distances of 200 miles and beyond without stopping.
The Tarahumara live simply and eat a diet that is over 90% plant foods. Dr. Fuhrman uses a similar diet based off 90 - 100% plant foods to reverse disease.
Isn't fascinating that the ancient cultures of this world have so much to teach this advanced society? When America was first being explored we spent alot of resources destroying "primitive" societies and now as we move forward into time we are learning that cultures like the Tarahumara have alot more to teach us than we can teach them.

Green For Life - Green Smoothie Every Day!!!

Last night I had a dream that I got a substantial raise. It was pretty fascinating, because I have been saying affirmations for some time about being more financially successful.

The dream let me know that the messages have finally reached my subconscious. That was the whole point of saying affirmations to start changing the direction of my life by consciously choosing different thoughts to repeat out loud.

I love my life so much. I love every day of it. It is such an adventure. There is always another great book to read, or a new exercise to add to my routine, some great event to train for, and wonderful people to work with and for.

I am so thankful for everything in my life. I am thankful that I can wake up in the morning and have a green smoothie made with wild blueberries, organic kale, and bananas after a great one day fast.

Why do I love life so much? I am not sure. I think it might have something to do with eating high nutrient foods like green smoothies, salads, and healthy foods like the Tarahumara eat (beans).

Basically my point is we have life really good. We are very fortunate to have so much abundance in our lives. We can make it even better by choosing better thoughts and making good eating choices.

I recommend Green For Life as a book that I want you out there to read. Try to get it from the library. Chimps share 94% of our genetic code and over half of their diet is green leafy vegetables. If you aren't eating spinach, kale, cabbage, collard greens, bok choy, or some type of green leafy vegetable every day then you are officially crazy.

I repeat: We share 94% of our genetic code with chimps and they don't eat junk food in the wild. Make yourself a green smoothie and find out what you are missing.

If it doesn't taste good it means your blender probably sucks. I got a Vitamix, but the next cheapest high powered blender is Montel William's Health Master blender.

When I taste a green smoothie with those wild blueberries, greens, and bananas blended up I feel like I am in heaven. Nothing I have ever eaten has compared to this taste explosion in my mouth. I have tried to make these smoothies with cheap blenders and they just don't taste as good. I am close to heaven, but still have a couple hundred miles to go.

Invest in your health. Get a Health Master blender if you want to experience something that to me is the most fulfilling and delicious food combination on the planet.

The Fluoride Deception

Deception. Lies. Greed.

Living in a capitalistic society we are surrounded by deception everywhere we go. Our neighbors want to make money off of us so they use sophisticated methods to lie to us.

The lies start when they tell us that dairy products prevent osteoporosis, when the scientific facts show that the countries that consume the most dairy products have the highest rates of osteoporosis.

The simple truth is we allow this to happen. We need to educate ourselves to how corrupt the actual system is and then understand how to use our "boycott" power to support organic farming and a healthier and more sustainable future.

I recommend The Fluoride Deception by Chris Bryson, because it is fascinating and is also very illustrative of how far companies will go. Once we understand how unethical capitalistic greed can get then we have more power over our lives, because we can live more mindfully.

Chi Running

Checked Chi Running book and DVD out from the library. I am preparing for my 50 mile run physically and mentally. The mental training is almost more important than the physical training. Every day I repeat to my self:

I am able to run the Wild Idaho 50 mile run faster than
anyone else without any pain or discomfort.

Mentally I know that the Tarahumara Indians are able to run 100 miles without any signs of fatigue or pain. This book has really helped me understand how they are able to do that.

Focusing on my running form is extremely important to my success in this upcoming 50 mile run. I want to run this 50 mile run without any pain or discomfort.

The Cliff...

What does it feel like to be walking towards a cliff? What does it feel like to follow millions of other Lemmings to a premature death?

The Standard American Diet is lethal. It's deadly. It's not safe for human consumption.

What percentage of kids age 4 - 11 have signs of heart disease in America?

75% of our kids have clogged arteries. One study found that today's over weight kids have the arteries of 45 year old Americans.

Ask yourself what happened to some of our great athletes and you will find that they died of heart attacks and strokes. The Tarahumara are still going strong at 95 and beyond, but America's athletes die pretty young if they don't watch their diet.

Why is the America diet so lethal? Why have I met 16 year olds who had heart attacks and read about 13 years old dying of high blood pressure?


Dr. Milton Mills examined 19 different physilogical characteristics of humans, omnivores and herbivores. Humans share all 19 characteristics with herbivores and only one with carnivores. Our diet is lethal becasue we are not anatomically designed to eat a corpse. We are designed to climb trees and pick fruit.

This explains why I cannot run and catch a deer, but I can do hundreds of pull-ups.

So start making more meals with 100% plant foods and stop fighting with our anatomical design. Stop walking toward the cliff and following the other Lemmings.

Many of those lemmings were my family members who died of strokes, heart attacks, and cancer which is also a result of clogging our arteries. The immune system is useless if our arteries are clogged.

Then vegan world class runners like Scott Jurek are in books like Born To Run along with one of the most incredible vegan athletes of all time, Ruth Heidrich.

It's kind of funny. They keep telling you that you are being crazy, but no body is paying attention to what is actually going on. Things are changing.

Pinole & Chia Fresca - The Tarahumara live in a society without heart disease, cancer, diabetes, or diabetes and they can run up to 300 miles. I want to make some of this stuff for my long runs. It is cheap and easy to make and is more affordable than modern day energy bars, and has a better track record.
Some of our modern day energy bars are pretty highly processed, and I read that Scott Jurek doesn't consume any gels or energy bars when running. He just eats real foods like the Tarahumara.

What Is Wrong With Us? How Did Most of Us Guys Get So Dumb?

I am a guy. I know how dumb we can be and how dumb we often are. I have known many guys that would spend every single dime they make on weapons to go "kill" stuff. Meanwhile, having these neanderthals help raise a generation of Americans has not worked.

Women are the stronger part of this yin yang equation. We need both for harmony, peace, and enlightenment, but women have been pushed aside from their rightful place in history.

We need women to start educating themselves and steer this ship back on course before we hit a really big ice berg and end up destroying this incredible country.
This book is next on my reading list after I finish the five books I am digesting at the moment. I am overwhelmed with books right now, but Pam Reed is incredible.

She beat the guys and girls in the 135 mile Badwater run in 130 degree temperature and she didn't even feel hot at all. Women are stronger than us. They can endure more pain and can beat us and I really think they are smarter than us, but our media is pushing our entire society towards dumbing ourselves down.

I have met so many women and men who don't read. They spend the majority of their time watching t.v. shows that do nothing to educate us and very little to inspire us to get off the couch and DO something!

The picture below is from an article by Dr. Fuhrman showing what is happening to kids today on the SAD (Standard American Diet). We are killing our own kids with high fat foods.

The Tarahumara let women have an equal place in society and they have no cancer, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, war, theft, running injuries, carbon emissions or any of the other problems we have created in this society.

The message is simple. Women need to start smartening up their guys. We can see that the Tarahumara Indians have a society without our problems and if we want that for America we need to use our brains.

Every time a woman reads a book like Born To Run or Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease we will be that much closer to a society where our quality of life lasts a life time and we don't have to spend the last part of our lives in nursing homes and wheel chairs. We can spend the last years of our lives hiking, biking, and out in nature doing stuff like the Tarahumara do when they are 95 and walking 26 miles in the Copper Canyons.

Black Bean Brownies for Valentine's Day


I made some of these Black Bean Brownies this week from Dr. Fuhrman. I thought they were incredible. I used Wonder Slim 99.7% caffeine free cocoa powder, because caffeine makes it so I cannot sleep good. Black beans actually have 10 times more antioxidants that oranges do. Just one cup of black beans provides 30% of your protein for the day and 20% of your iron per day.



I am going to make another batch for Valentine's Day. I like to give healthy gifts instead of unhealthy gifts for holidays. I always think about what someone would have gave someone thousands of years ago before there was junk food. At one time we just had what the Earth provided and that is what I like to give.

There are so many different things to tell you. So many things to share with you and so many things that you (reader) can share with me. Even if there is no one out there reading this is therapuetic for me.

Society Can Evolve - We Can Save The Planet

Individuals make choices every day. Collectively our choices as individuals make up the choices that a soicety makes. Jared Diamond wrote the book, Collapse, that looks at cultures that destroyed their environment and it led to the collapse of their civilizations. These civilizations were destroying their enviornment ignorantly just like we are today in America. In the book, Beyond Beef, by Jeremy Rifkin the author explains how growing crops for cattle and cattle grazing are the primary cause of desertification, deforestation, soil erosion, species extinction, global warming, world hunger and water depletion.

Interestingly, consuming too many animal products is the primary cause of cancer and heart disease according to The China Study and Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease by Dr. Esselstyn.

Jared Diamond makes sure to look at cultures that avoided collapse by taking care of and protecting their environment. In the book one culture lives on a really small island and there are no islands near by. This is how life is on Earth for us. We are here by ourselves and if we don't take care of Mother Earth then there are no inhabitable rocks left for us to go live on. This island culture turned their island into a garden of eden to help save themselves environmentally. Every single plant on the island produced some type of food or something to make clothers or other useful items.

Imagine walking through a city surrounded by trees producing every type of edible fruit imaginable. That would be a city where everyone would always have nutritious food and those trees would produce oxygen for the environment. Every time you eat fruit that is a message to the world to plant more fruit trees. The same is not true for a hamburger, because according to Jeremy Rifkin an acre of forest is destroyed every five seconds for cattle grazing or growing crops for livestock. In the book, Diet For New America, John Robbins points out how over 80% of crops are used to feed livestock instead of people.

Food For Life is an organization that is aware of how producing animal products is the primary cause of world hunger. They have been feeding 100% plant-based meals to hungry people around the world for over 30 years.

We have a choice about our own future and the future of this planet. Humans can evolve and so can societies.


Dr. Will Tuttle wrote the book The World Peace Diet. His message is basically the same as Collapse. Our society needs to stop eating so many animal products if we want to save ourselves and this world. My favorite song in the world is called, "If You Could Save Yourself, You'd Save Us All" by Ween. It is so true.

My favorite part of The World Peace Diet is when Dr. Will Tuttle explains that the World Cancer Research Fund looked at 4,500 different studies and then concluded that animal products cause cancer. There recommendation was to avoid animal products and eat fruits, vegetables, legumes and nuts. That is the same diet that Dr. Fuhrman and Dr. Esselstyn are using to reverse disease in their patients.

The ultimate message here is if we want a better world we need to start working on ourselves. We can't point fingers and blame someone else or just pretend that things are fine. We also can't avoid the truth because it is too depressing. We need to face the facts and start learning how we can help save this planet.


According to the book, Ecological Integrity by professor David Pimentel it takes 12,000 gallons to produce one pound of beef and 60 gallons to produce a pound of potatoes. Every time I eat a pound of potatoes instead of a pound of a beef I am saving up to 11,940 gallons of water for future generations. The same goes for when I choose beans over meat. One cup of beans provides 30% of my protein for the day and 30% of my iron.

Eating this way has gotten my total cholesterol to 116 so far.

Excuses Are Not Natural

This is something I have had to learn and relearn and am still learning again every day. Every day there are so many excuses we can use to hold us back from our potential.

Every one of these excuses does nothing for us to help us improve our quality of life and they are not a part of our nature. A little baby doesn't make any excuses. The baby just exists and does. Even if a baby cannot do something it doesn't even phase him/her. They just keep trying and eventually they walk and then run.

What is the potential of our human body? This is something I am always thinking about. This weekend when I did a 54 mile bike ride I wanted to push myself closer to my physical potential.

If you read the book, Ultra Marathon Man, you will start to understand our true physical potential. Dean Karnazes has ran 350 miles in a row. It took him 81 hours to complete this task. He has also completed a 12 man 200 mile relay over 8 times by himself.

The plus to reading this book is it is facsinating and a really good book. If Dean Karnazes can do that and Jack Lalanne can do 1,023 pushups in 23 minutes on National television then what is my excuse. These inspirational people let me know that I can do incredible things with my body and mind.

I also recommend watching 50 Marathons in 50 Days. It's a documentary where Dean Karnazes runs 50 marathons in 50 days. Medical researchers did tests on him and found that after doing 50 marathons in a row his body had suffered less muscle damage than someone who ran one marathon.

Excuses are not natural. Don't let excuses keep you from staying physically fit, mentally fit, and getting the most out of life.

Cadillac Man in Land of The Lost Souls

I am almost finished reading Land of The Lost Souls by Cadillac Man. This is an incredible book! I love it. I have not been able to put it down all weekend

This book really helped me understand what homelessness is all about. Please do not treat these people badly. I ALWAYS give money to homeless people when I see them and have cash on me. I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY DO WITH THE MONEY!

Giving is more rewarding than receiving and that is not just during Christmas. I give homeless people $5 or $10 sometimes. I don't care if they drink with it. I just want them to know that someone cares about them.

If I was in their situation I pray to God someone would help me and treat me like a normal human being. This book shows the ugly side of discrimination that these people face on a daily basis.

Please read this book. Get it at the library or buy it. I think it is one of the best books I have ever read.

I am so grateful and thankful that I have a job, house, and healthy food to eat. Right now I am eating an incredible soup with all organic ingredients. It has potatoes, kidney beans, green chiles, kale, and a tomato base. Thank God I have the money to afford to feed myself good food.

Cadillac Man says that women are always the cruelest and most judgemental to homeless people. They laugh at them and treat them badly. That hurts my feelings. Please do not treat any of God's children like this. Just like Michael Franti says, "I'm a human being!" We are all human beings.
